To supervise personnel and the daily operations in the Adams County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility in the Records Section

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Serves as a working supervisor and must be proficient in all aspects to the Records Section
  • Reports directly to the Support Services Manager
  • Maintains and oversees highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Monitor and resolving public request issues
  • Verify and correct computer entries for quality control
  • Training and testing of Records and Bonding employees to maintain correct practiced procedures
  • Schedule shift assignments
  • Approves leave requests and coordinates the scheduling of vacation/holiday leave of an assigned shift
  • Approve time entry of direct reports in the computer-based time and leave accounting system
  • Evaluates job performance of direct reports through written performance evaluations
  • Communicate policies and procedures to staff, assuring compliance
  • Determines and administers verbal and written disciplinary action and handles employee complaints and grievances.
  • Participates in interviewing and selection of personnel
  • Attends various meetings. Conduct monthly meetings for the unit
  • Maintains inmate-booking files on inmates housed in the Jail facility, which includes current and past records
  • Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of records on all inmates booked into the facility
  • Data entry of confidential records
  • Liaison for courts to mandate Bonding Board
  • On call through pager 24 hours a day
  • Assists in processing records requests.
  • Prepare evaluations of Record Technicians and Bonding Clerks
  • Prepare monthly statistics / Prepare a written budget proposal for the Records and Bonding Units
  • Monitor records warehouse for filing accuracy, microfilming and shredding
  • Serve as a liaison with bonds persons in the community and Detention Facility
  • Conduct monthly training meetings / attend monthly and quarterly supervisor's meetings
  • Update training manual for Records Technician and Bonding Clerk positions

Qualifications for Success

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years in clerical/administrative experience with 3 of those in law enforcement
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice/Law enforcement, Public Administration or related field is preferred
  • Previous Leadership experience

More Qualifications for Success

  • Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with persons acting under stress
  • Skilled in NCIC/CCIC network
  • Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment and various computer programs
  • Must be able to work shift work
